The Mist

Some days in Ireland I feel like I’m living in a greenhouse. There’s a blanket of gray clouds heavy with rain floating close to the ground, and beyond that the shadow of the sun. Like, literally you can see the sun above the clouds, like shining a flashlight under the covers. And then the rain comes, more of mist really, like a half fog.

Days like these I feel like a ghost. I feel the water in the air but not on my skin.

This ambiguity is making me complacent. Like I have unlimited access as an observer. I love that.
